How to Open a PPF Account in SBI Online

A Public Provident Fund (PPF) is a long-term savings scheme offered by the Indian government, which provides attractive interest rates and tax benefits. Follow these steps to open a PPF account with the State Bank of India (SBI) online:

Step 1: Log in to SBI’s Online Banking Portal

Visit the SBI online banking website and log in to your account using your username and password. If you don’t have an online banking account, you’ll need to register for one first.

Step 2: Navigate to the PPF Account Opening Page

Once logged in, follow this path: Personal Banking > Deposits > Open PPF Account. This will take you to the PPF account opening page.

  • Nomination details (optional)
  • Initial deposit amount (minimum ₹500)
